What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that consists of persistent redness most commonly covering the cheeks, nose and chin. Papules and pustules, visible blood vessels, impaired barrier function and irritation.

Rosacea is thought to be caused by the demodex mite that lives in the skin, having an overabundance of these mites can trigger inflammation in the skin.

Rosacea can also be hereditary and linked to impaired gut function. Unfortunately there is no cure for rosacea, however there are many treatments available to manage the condition.
